The True Cost Of Not Learning How To Write Online
YEOW! Tej here and today I want to answer a question I get often...
"How does life change after learning copy?"
I don't know exactly how your life will change.
But here's five ways it's likely to change...
#1) You have the skill set to make money. But not necessarily the skill set to build and run a business.
This is an honest point.
Most people think if they learn copy, they can build a wildly profitable business.
This is true and false.
Copywriting will allow you to make money…
By finding hungry targets and writing messages that get them to trade $$$s for valuable offers.
But sales is only one facet of business.
There’s a bunch of different layers (such as delivery, customer support, logistics, operations, systems, etc.)
So although copy isn’t enough to build and run a business, it’s enough to start making money. And that’s the most important part when you’re first launching a business.
For what good are operations and customer support if you can’t make sales/get clients?
No good.
Fortunately with copy skills you can make money (and BIG money at that).
It’s an evergreen "money-making" skill.
If I went broke tomorrow, all I would have to do is find a hungry target and write/put a piece of irresistible copy in front of him/her.
By doing so, money would be made.
Over and over again.
Until the end of time.
This is one of the most important ways your life changes when you learn copy. No longer do you stress about money (or you stress considerably less). No longer do you worry about running out or not having enough. For you know you have the skill to make money as you please (they can take away your job, assets, and resources, but no one can take away your skill).
This is good during economic booms…
But especially valuable in busts.
For what you’re selling and how you position it may change, but the skill set used to exchange product for $$$s will remain (and this gives you a very strong edge in the marketplace).
-
I used to leverage this all the time in College days. Whenever I would want to buy something extravagant, I wouldn't use the money in my bank account. But come up with the number I needed to hit and then write copy that produced that amount. And use that instead of my own money.
Very lucrative.
Moving on...
#2) You start having a lot more "good" business ideas because you’re habitually analyzing products/offers from the target’s perspective instead of your own.
Good business ideas come from the heart of the market.
Not from your head.
Good business ideas are rooted in the way prospect’s perceive life.
Not in the way you want them to.
Most people struggle in business because their mind and thoughts and perspective is all they know.
Learning copywriting flips this on its head.
In order to get good at copy, you have to change the way you see the world.
Right now you perceive life according to your limited perspective.
But copywriting teaches you how your prospects perceive life. By learning copy, you learn how to look at life through another’s eyes.
This is arguably the greatest skill to possess when figuring out what businesses to start… what offers to create… what products/services to pitch because it’s in alignment with what people actually crave/will buy.
(Everything else is just hoping and wishing.)
And this turns out to become a superpower in the world of business.
Personal Example:
Before I learned copy I thought every business idea I/my friends had in high school and college was a great idea lol.
I poured years of energy and time into those ideas.
Now looking back? I see clearly that they were horrible ideas.
Because they weren’t in alignment with human psychology and what people crave/will buy.
If I had started my business career by learning copy instead of scheming up business ideas, I wouldn’t have wasted so much time, effort and money working on shitty ventures.
But oh well, you live and learn - right? Or is that just what people say to make themselves feel better? Damn if I know.
Let’s keep it moving...
#3) You start "transferring" the skill of copy into every area of life and capitalizing on opportunities you would’ve otherwise missed out on.
Whether it be writing a cover letter for a new job…
Writing an essay to get into the College of your dreams…
Sending an email to your boss after you Fd up…
Persuading your favorite tweeter guru to apprentice under him...
Convincing your boy to stop being a bitch and come out to party...
Or shooting texts to pretty girls (‘text game’ is just good copy in action)…
Every area of life starts to magically improve (assuming you’re good at writing copy).
Whereas previously you would’ve missed out on the job, the school you desired, a fun night, or the girl you desired - you now start increasing the # of times you capitalize on the opportunities of life...
And the greatest part is…
It all happens automatically.
For you’re not doing anything consciously (that would lose the authenticity).
Instead, copy just becomes a part of you.
And influences every interaction you have.
This is when you start moving up levels quickly...
But it does have a downside…
Downside is you’ll develop the reputation of being able to make magic happen with just the power of words, which means everybody will come to you when they’re sending out emails, resumes, apology stories, etc, etc. (but it’s a blast nonetheless and you'll collect some wild stories haha).
#4) A new filter arises: "Is this powerful copy or not? How can it be improved?"
This can get a little annoying.
Because some days you just want to shut it off…
And enjoy life.
But it’s hard because there’s a voice inside your head that filters everything through the perspective of copy.
If you think about it, every human interaction is copy.
When people speak, the words they use are copy.
When people write content, the words they use are copy.
When presidents deliver speeches, the words they use are copy.
When Jimmy Kimmel delivers a monologue, the words he uses are copy.
Before you learn copy, you would be swept away with all these words and go where they were destined to take you.
Not anymore.
Now you know better - for good or bad.
And learn from everything and everybody.
By analyzing.
For every human interaction (whether 1-to-1 or 1-to-many) is rooted in copy and everybody is trying to get their way.
Is the approach they’re taking the best way to get their desired result?
That’s the question that’ll burn a hole in your brain.
Daily. Weekly. Monthly. Yearly.
This can get a little annoying because all your human interactions develop another layer - it’s you and the other human (plus an analysis/filtering of what you’re perceiving through the world of copy.)
But at the same time, it’s extremely useful if making a fortune in business is one of your goals because it trains you into becoming a person of influence.
(Huge competitive advantage.)
#5) You become conscious of the power of words (and the impact they’re having on your psyche - whereas before you were ignorant af).
Before learning copy, I would use any and all words.
Even words that would destroy my mindset…
… and fill me with misery/anxiety.
After seeing just how powerful words are…
… and the impact they have on people, you develop a greater awareness of the words you use inside your own head.
Each word carries the potential to fuel you or destroy you. To get you to take x action (such as going to the gym) or y action (such as giving into your tiredness and binge watching Netflix instead).
Most of us are conditioned to use "self-talk" that cripples us and keeps us from living a life we’re proud to call our own.
After learning copy, this changes.
For gone are energy destroying words.
And comfort inducing mind-chatter.
But that’s not all…
Your stance of self-talk also changes.
You go from thinking in terms of what you’re against…
To what you’re for.
And when you take into consideration all that Quantum Physics entails, you realize this makes all the difference in the quality of your life. And the adventures you experience.
Thus learning copy teaches you how to talk to yourself/sell yourself on taking the best course of action for Future You.
And that’s the most important step in building confidence and leading a life of great adventure and fortune.
So with all the above considered, the question I have for you is…
How much is learning copywriting worth to you?
Even if you don’t want to write copy for clients…
Or write copy for your own products…
Or heck, write copy, period - how much is the skill of being able to perceive life through another’s eyes and write the exact message that will get him to take the action you desire worth to you?
Not just at this moment in time.
But over the course of your life… your career… your relationships.
Do you think learning copy would allow you to generate enough sales to make just one business a raving success?
Do you think learning copy would allow you to make just one new connection that ends up changing your life (personal or business)?
Do you think learning copy would allow you to capitalize on just one life-changing opportunity that you would’ve otherwise missed out on?
Do you think learning copy would allow you to create just one product/service that puts a bunch of benjamins into your pocket?
Of course we’re speaking very conservatively here…
Reality is learning copy wouldn’t just deliver one-off successes in these categories, but fundamentally change the # of times you experience success in each area.
But frankly, hearing BIG claims gets boring.
So I take the conservative road here instead of the hype road and ask you:
Even if learning copy allowed you to make just ONE business a success, meet just ONE new amazing person, capitalize on just ONE killer opportunity, and create just ONE irresistible offer - how much would that be worth to you?
8-figures (and beyond)?
Multiple 7 figures?
Six figures?
Just an extra $50k?
Don’t look at it just financially, but consider the impact it’ll have on EVERY area of your life (from dating to relationships to the self-talk running rampant in your brain).
And ask yourself: What’s that worth to me?
Plus, more importantly:
"What do I stand to LOSE if I don’t learn copy?"
How many opportunities will I lose?
How much $$$ will I lose?
How much freedom will I lose?
Put a number on it.
(Really do this).
Now look at what learning copy is worth to you (over the course of your life) and the # associated with what you stand to lose if you don’t learn copy.
And evaluate both…
… and use those two numbers to make a rational decision.
How - you ask?
If learning copy is WORTH more than $497 to you…
and/or…
Will COST you more than a measly $497 to NOT learn it…
Then you owe it to yourself to get really good at copy by picking up 6 Figure Promotions today (or if you don’t want my course, go learn copy elsewhere. But still learn it because it’s the rational/smart thing to do).
The reason I recommend my course is because well…
1) I’m biased.
2) It’s becoming the most recommended copy course on Tweeter because unlike most courses that just rehash $10 copywriting books…
6FP teaches you my personal 3-step system for writing copy that pulls in 6-7 figures (you won’t find this system anywhere else). I was taught this system by a 8-figure direct response marketer (over the span of 4.5 years). And it’s the system I use every single day to write winning copy.
You can use this system to write ad copy, long form sales letters, emails, VSL’s or whatever you please.
It’s proven and it works.
(Not only have I used this system to write multiple 6-7 promotions (examples included inside the course) - but others have consistently increased their conversion rate from 1-2% (or less) to 5% (and beyond) by using this system - including your favorite Tweeter Gurus. That’s the difference between making a few hundred dollars and generating four-to-five figure days.)
(Feel free to Twitter Search ‘6 Figure Promotions’ to see what others have to say)

If you’re not interested but realize that NOT learning copy will cost you considerably more than time spent learning it, then AT THE BARE MINIMUM do yourself a favor and pick up a simple $10 Copywriting Book.
Books won't really teach you how to write killer copy (just the principles), but it’s better than doing nothing and missing out on a ton of opportunity.
